Are you aware of this ATF rule? You should, it goes into effect May 20, 2024 unless stayed by a court. Basically, If you sell your firearm to another person, under this rule you are a dealer engaged in the business. If you do not have an FFL, they can and will prosecute you or murder you whichever is more convenient (it has already happened). In order to make this work, you will be forced to REGISTER ALL of your firearms. If they think you have too many or the wrong type, they can and will prosecute you. Without the Supreme Court protecting our God given rights as outlined in the Constitution, we have no rights or Constitution. This election choose wisely. Freedom or tyranny.

There is definitely a concern for those selling firearms moving forward, although it’s not specifically “cut and dry” like that. They have stated that individual sellers can keep selling privately, as they have. However, sellers can also technically be considered as “engaged in the business” under certain circumstances including selling for a profit, resale intentions, etc. Unfortunately (as usual), the BATFE has not made it all that clear those exact thresholds.

Although it does not necessarily change where or how you can sell your items, it can have implications for some people regarding “private” vs “dealer” sales.

And you are absolutely correct that people need to VOTE WISELY in the upcoming election and fight rules like this.

For anyone that wants to read the whole ruling, here is a link: https://www.federalregister.gov/d/2024-07838
